American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has elected Steven Bensinger vice president and treasurer of AIG. He will report to Howard Smith, AIG vice chairman, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer.
Bensinger succeeds Carol McFate who will become a senior vice president of AIG Trading Group Inc. and head its Structured Products Committee. In this role, she will work with all of AIG Trading’s business lines to expand its structured products business.
Bensinger was previously executive vice president and chief financial officer of Combined Specialty Group, Inc. (CSG), the underwriting operations of Aon Corporation. Prior to joining CSG he was executive vice president of Trenwick Group Ltd. which merged with Chartwell Re Corporation in 1999.
McFate joined AIG in 1994 as director of financial analysis. She was elected AIG assistant treasurer in 1996 and became treasurer in 1998.
