OneBeacon Catastrophe Team Deploys ActivePhoto Solution

October 15, 2002

ActivePhoto, a provider of mobile workflow automation solutions for businesses, announced that OneBeacon Insurance Group has deployed the ActivePhoto Express solution for its catastrophe claim operations.

The ActivePhoto Express solution is available for Windows-based PCs and Pocket PC handheld devices and is compatible with any digital camera. ActivePhoto Express includes labeling, organization, annotation, and upload of images from the field to a centralized online storage account via any wired or wireless Internet connection. ActivePhoto Express features end-to-end encryption via SSL along with forms attachment capabilities.

ActivePhoto is expected to enable OneBeacon to streamline its catastrophe claim handling operations by helping its staff label, organize and upload photos to a central online storage account that is immediately accessible by all other staff assigned to the catastrophe team. The ActivePhoto Express solution maintains a Web-based storage facility for the files, which can later be accessed and integrated into internal catastrophe reports.

“ActivePhoto Express will enable us to easily and efficiently process our catastrophe photos,” Tom Parnell, assistant vice president of Property Claims for OneBeacon, said. “The program is flexible and user-friendly, which we expect will expedite our ability to mobilize our distributed catastrophe network.

“Transmitting images directly to an online database will enable us to get key documentation from the field immediately, which enhances our ability to gauge the level of damage in a given catastrophe. Additionally, the absence of any start-up costs enables us to implement the system cost-effectively while providing state-of-the-art communication and documentation tools to respond to a catastrophic situation.”
