Aon Corp. announced several senior management changes within Swett & Crawford Group Inc., the largest wholesale insurance broker in the United States.
David Hartoch will retire as chairman and chief executive officer of Swett & Crawford Group, Inc., effective as of Jan. 1, 2003. Michael Rice, chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Services Group Inc., noted, “Dave Hartoch’s reputation for excellence and integrity and his considerable leadership skills has enabled him to successfully guide our wholesale brokerage operation to its current position as the industry leader in this key market segment.”
Aon also announced that upon Hartoch’s retirement, Thomas Comer will be appointed Swett & Crawford Group Inc.’s president and chief executive officer and Frank Beranek will be appointed as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Comer’s career spans more than 30 years and encompasses numerous executive, operational and financial management positions in several of the insurance industry’s major brokerage firms, including more than 10 years with Aon.
Beranek’s experience includes more than 30 years with Aon, during which his duties have included senior positions and responsibilities in its underwriting management, wholesale and facultative reinsurance brokerage, and loss and loss cost management operations.
