The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research plans to introduce the Certified Risk Managers (CRM) International courses to university and college representatives at the Western Risk and Insurance Association (WRIA) conference in Las Vegas, Jan. 2-5, 2004.
This annual gathering of risk management and insurance professors is an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in risk and insurance education.
“The CRM Principles of Risk Management course is an ideal stepping stone into the risk management field for business majors,” explained James Kallman, executive vice president of The National Alliance and Director of the CRM Program. “It provides an overall knowledge of the risk management process and gives students the background they will need to succeed in more advanced courses.”
Lance Ewing, executive council president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS) will be a featured speaker at the WRIA event. Ewing is vice president of Risk Management for Park Place Entertainment, a CRM faculty member, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Academy of Producer Insurance Studies.
Additionally, Kallman will introduce the new peer-reviewed Journal of Risk Education (JRE), due for publication mid-2004. The JRE, which is co-sponsored by The National Alliance and RIMS, will feature a compilation of articles from teaching professionals on new and innovative teaching theories and techniques.
