I have been working with a company that provided a cost symbol for a 2008 Chevy Trailblazer SS (VIN 2gn2t13h452169231). The problem is I don’t find anywhere that indicates this is a valid VIN.
I worked at an insurance company specifically in the auto department, there was a list of symbols we went by. They’re not accessible to the public I’m pretty sure. It showed every kind of vehicle you can imagine, I can give you some helpful tips if you’d like to know. My mom always told me that having a red car would be higher because it’s more visible to cops, but color does not matter, it just goes by vehicle. The more expensive the vehicle is to fix , the higher the symbol. For instance:The scale is from 6-27, 6 being the lowest, which is best, its cheapest.
Vans:6-10
SUVS: depending on make range from a 10-27
(landrovers and escalades being really high)
Cars: Range from 10-17, 4 door cars
Coupes/Sports Cars: 12-27, Corvette being high, 350z, camaros, etc.
This is pretty cool but believe it or not the new pontiac solstice ranks a 14, that is pretty good, its sporty and cheap on insurance..i thought that was cool. Anyways , hope this helped.
These ratings are only available to insurance compnanies who are ISO members. The ratings don’t make any sense! My son was driving a 91 Mercury Sable, which had a symbol rating of 3 according to my ins. co., and was paying $102/6 mos. for liability. He recently upgraded to a 97 Honda Accord, which has anti-lock brakes and is much lighter and more manueverable than the Sable, and his symbol rating is now 15 and his liability went to $273/6 mos.! The higher incidence of theft, and higher repair cost of a Honda should have NO impact on liability coverage! I think the whole system is a scam, justifying them to charge whatever they want!
Would anyone be able to tell me where I could find the ISO Symbol listing for most vehicles?

Are these symbols/ratings available to the public? If so, where can I find them. If not, do you know of any sites that may post samples?
