Correction: 100 Largest P/C Independent Agencies

May 11, 2004

Insurance Journal recently published a list of the top 100 largest property/casualty independent agencies and brokers in its May 3, 2004 issue. The list was compiled based on information that agencies voluntarily submitted to Insurance Journal.

Unfortunately, several wholesale brokers were inadvertently listed as well. The following wholesale brokers should not have been included: Arrowhead General Agency Inc., Bollinger Inc., Crouse & Associates, Heath Insurance Brokers Inc., Hull & Company Inc., National Specialty Underwriters Inc. and Norman Spencer McKernan Inc.

The following independent agencies have been added to IJ’s Top 100 list with 2003 P/C premiums ranging from $50 million to $75 million: A-Affordable Insurance Agency Inc., Atlantic/Smith, Cropper & Deeley LLC, CFR Inc., John M. Glover Agency, The Protector Group Insurance Agency, Senn Dunn, and Southwest Business Corp.
