The risk business face is vast. The opportunity to transfer any or all risk is the great option that owners have. EPLI is popping up more and more with spot lights like Bill O’Reily. This is a product that will make a difference with all the frivolous law suits in today’s business world.

This company signed my husband up for insurance and he had a stroke 3 years ago. We have never received a policy or any other paperwork, but they charge our checking account. I have asked for documentation from a person at their contact number they provide, this person said the request for documentation must come in written form.

Why is that, they can take my money without it written documentation, but they can’t give me proof without it.
    What a joke.
I’m very concerned about these types of policies they are phoning people about and signing them up without any information, and not providing any information to them.

I have also put a hold on my checking account and challenging their ability to take funds and requesting what documents they provided to my bank.

This doesn’t seem to be a customer oriented business, but a business that seems to prey on unsuspecting people, who aren’t able to understand what they are being signed up for.

I look forward to any response from NUF, since the customer service person wouldn’t give me a phone number to their main office so this could be straigtened out promptly.

Before the expiration date of 3/15/05 I responed to the # 1-800-572-5844 & talked to a representative who promised me the $15.00 gas rebate after giving him my voucher No. 9392. To date no rebate & when I tried to check on it the 800 No. had been canceled. Is the a normal scam of this company Where can I get an address or phone no. to contact them & insist on their honoring their commitment? Thank you for your help.

I had a same problem. Try to call 1-800-572-5838.
According to the rep, the policy was mailed on 6/3/05 (although my first call was made on 5/14/05).
Before the cancellation, we have to look through the policy (maybe need a policy number at cancellation). We have a 60 days grace period from our first call to execute cancellation.

    Hope this helps.

On 4/5/2005 I called the 1-800-392-5935 number and talked with a representative, regarding the new insurance program. Although I did not take the offer, I was assured that a gas rebate of $15.00 would be sent in 2-3 weeks. Today is June 15,2005.
I’m questioning if this isn’t a scam, also.
    My voucher # is #9392 (CA Agency # OD085898}

My insurance policy came on 6/11/2005 (about a month later) and I called 1-800-572-5838 to cancel the policy. The agent offered another insurance plans, but I did not take them. She gave me another ID number at cancellation in case of recontracting the policy. No cancellation fee was charged. My voucher # was also #9392 (CA Agency # OD085898).
The $15 gas rebate consists of three $5 vouchers. Each voucher cannot be used at the same time; first one for July, second for August, and third for September 2005.

We should file a class-action suit against National Union Fire Insurance Company for the obviously fraudulent gas voucher scam. I, too, am reporting them to the state insurance commissioner.

I noticed on my credit card bill a charge for $20.90, and then remembered I had called about the insurance trial/gas card months ago, and never received the card or any information about the insurance. They refunded one month\’s worth, but I see that we have been charged since my last statement, and that our December bill had it too. I wrote a letter and hope to be repaid in full.

I just received this bill today for my 81 year old Mother. We are so tired of these phoney exploiting businesses that are making millions taking advantage of the elderly. You can bet they will never see another check from her account again.

My son’s Wells-Fargo account was charged $24.95/month from May,2009 to October, 2009, without my son knowing about it. We asked Wells-Fargo to stop payment since October, 2009. We found out that Wells-Fargo had supplied my son’s personal information to NUF, which makes Wells-Fargo an accomplice. We are in contact with Senator John Cornyn about this fraud.

I’m glad I just looked before sending in the voucher and my original receipt for gas purchase. I became suspicious when it required my signature on the MAIL-IN VOUCHER and the original sales receipt for gas. I’m going to notify the BBB here in NC, also.

I have been charged from my checking account with Chase the amount of $23.85 every three months several times, from National Union Fire Insurance , I never ask for this insurance, they said that I have an account with them with all my personal information, honestly I never receive any policy as they affirm they send to me. I ask for to cancel it and the lady said they need to send me the policy again so I can read it one more time to be sure I want to cancel. I said that I never read anything from them before Well, the paperwork with that supose policy never came, I call again and this time the lady said to me that they do not have any account under my name or adress, I ask them then why if they do not have any account on my name they continue taking money from my checking account? then I lost the line, two days ago I was charged again $23.85, I call again and they said again they do not have my name or address one more time I ask them how they charge me again if they do not have my name or address, I was very upset them she ask me if I have a PO Box , I said yes, and she ask me for it I told her and then she make me wait for long I ask her did you find me? yes she said, she insisted to read the policy, I said , I just need you to cancel the account. She gave me a comfirmation #, and I ask her to repit the number and two numbers were missing, when she repit,it was different comf. # two numbers were differents to the first time she gave them. I think this is a
FRAUD from them. My bank said that the only way the can stop the payments is closing the account and open a new one, I dont understand how the bank can pay to a company if I never gave any autorization verbal or writing.

Recently re-financed mortgage leading to the usual public filing. Got a bill from these people for ‘Fire Insurance’ claiming I was paid thru 09/24/10 and requesting more money. Called to tell them I was not and never did do business with them – rep who identified herself as Andrina tried to extract more confidential info from me. These people are sophisticated phishers scamming wherever they can. Avoid at all costs.

The National Union Fire Insurance Company’s gas rebate promotion is shakey. I never did receive my gas rebate form to send in and had to call them for it. I finally received it with a letter and a form to send in my gas receipt along with my address information. They put a phone number in the letter 1-877-268-1980 to check on my rebate status after I sent it in. It has been over 10 weeks so today I called the number and got a recording that the toll free call was being blocked because I was out of the area. This company is a piece of work. I found another 1-800 number to call them and they said they never received my gas receipt and mail in rebate certificate that I sent
back in July. All they could do is send out another certificate and I can send in a new gas receipt. I doubt anyone has ever received their 15.00 gas rebate and I probably won’t receive mine either. Just as a matter of principle if I don’t receive it I’m going to send the documentation to the PA and N.J. Attorney
General, the Insurance Department and Wells Fargo who sponsored this promotion for National Union Fire Insurance Company.
I’m guessing getting insurance payouts for those who have insurance through them is probably a trip through insurance hell.
Another cream of the crop AIG affiliated
company and we let our government bail them out!

I have had the same problems with this company. It apeared as a $19/mo charge every month. I called them to cancel and they stated that if I stayed with them they would send me a gas voucher. I got it and sent it in. I recieved back a letter four weeks later that stated that they couldn’t send my money because I had canceled my policy. Then when I checked my statement there was another $19 charge. Something needs to be done to keep this company from ripping off more people. It’s hard enough to make ends meet without companies doing this.
