The Board of the Insurance Marketing Communications Association (IMCA) was saddened to announce that one of its members, Mark McClellan, succumbed to cancer on Nov. 21.

McClellan, an active IMCA member since the early 1980s, served on the Membership Committee and was elected to the Board in 2002. His enthusiasm and dedication to the association and to the insurance industry will be greatly missed.

McClellan joined insurance publisher Rough Notes Company in 1998 and was promoted to national sales manager in 1999. He was responsible for advertising in both Rough Notes Magazine and The Insurance Marketplace. During his 30-year career in advertising sales, he received numerous awards for his sales accomplishments. A graduate of the University of Missouri , he lived in Avon, Connecticut , with his wife, Ann.

“Mark McClellan will be remembered by many people in our industry as much more than a ‘business associate,'” said IMCA Past President, Reg Pierce, ARM, managing partner of InMarket Partners in Malvern, Pa. “He was a well-respected, professional who strived to build strong business and personal relationships. Mark was a true team player who always found a way to ‘make things happen’ for his clients. He will surely be missed by his colleagues and all of us at IMCA. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of Mark’s family members.”
