Hearn Named CEO of Willis RE US

Willis Re, the reinsurance unit of Willis Group Holdings, has announced the appointment of Peter C. Hearn to the position of CEO of Willis Re US.

Hearn assumes the position previously held by George Reeth. Reeth has been named president of Willis North America. Hearn has been
president of Willis Re US since 2002. Hearn will report to Grahame Millwater, chairman and chief executive of Willis Re globally.

“Under George’s leadership, our US reinsurance business has enjoyed significant growth in the past five years, and Peter, who has been an important contributor to this growth, has the skills and expertise to develop our organization further and continue the successful development of new business relationships and opportunities,” said Joe Plumeri, chairman and CEO of Willis.

Hearn joined Willis as a senior vice president in January 1994 to establish and manage the Philadelphia office. He was appointed eastern region manager in October 1994, and executive vice president in 1997. In 1999 Hearn was appointed one of three global/national
production leaders, and in 2000 was assigned overall responsibility for directing new business production efforts for global, national and regional property/casualty business. He was promoted to president in January 2002.

Hearn first entered the reinsurance business in 1978 with the North American Reinsurance Division of Willis Faber & Dumas in London. He returned to the United States in 1981 and joined Towers Perrin Reinsurance in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Willis, he served as vice president and principal of Towers Perrin. Hearn holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Lake Forest College.
