I wish that I was still 14-18 years old. I’m 24 years old now and I don’t have any more exciting birthdays ahead. I already have my driver’s license, I can buy cigars, and I can buy alcohol. Every birthday from here on out means my body gets weaker & weaker, right?
I am 62 and don’t want to go back to a younger age. I don’t want to raise kids again or go through all the other things younger people do. I am secure in my life now. To many choices these days for the younger crowd which I don’t feel is always the best.
I wish: I was born to old money and be an only child – then again I would not be in this business and playing this game. Today is like yesterday. When in the last 30 days in the Army (as a draftee) “You can’t stop the clock!”
We too will be out of here. :(
I am 52 looking forward to retirement. You can relax and travel and hopefully have a partner to grow old with. I sure would not want to go back and have to work another 40 years.
Funny…when I dreamt and aspired to becoming an underwriter in the late 70’s, all the ads for underwriters (this was in the days when there were pages of want ads in the Sunday papers for insurance workers) stated they were looking for candidates with 10, 15 years minimum experience. Now some companies only want 2 years – wonder why?????I learned that very rarely are the older, seasoned people revered in this business. That is why I left the rat race and went out on my own. Grew weary of being judged by my well earned grey hairs instead of my credentials.

Being young does not automatically equal ‘having kids’. Not having to bring up children made my 20s and 30s tremendously more enjoyable.
What joy did you miss by not raising children? I enjoyed my life tremendously also and raised 3 great kids. My first grandchild is now 3 weeks old.

What would this thread be without a comment from the AGE OLD BROKER?
I feel great, I just wish my wife were younger.
