    I paid almost 1/5 of my annual gross salary for health insurance when I was with my previous employer; that’s for coverage for self/spouse/one child.

    I’ve worked for companies where clerical staff could not afford to pay their share of the health insurance premium so they were uninsured and so were their children. One uninsured woman told me she begged, cried and cajoled her physican into performing a procedure in his office – a procedure she paid for out of pocket. That procedure normally requires a three day hospital stay.

    It’s no wonder that an estimated 50% of bankruptcies are the result of medical related problems.

    Yes, while the higher up muckity mucks are collecting millions upon millons annually, the rest of us pay through the nose. My costs for health insurance increase yearly by more than the lousy raise I’m given. So while the few get richer and richer, people like myself fall farther behind the eight ball each year.
