For years we’ve been told that polution has contributed to global warming. I recently heard that lack of polution is now contributing to global warming because there’s no smog to deflect the sun’s rays. So which is it?
Or could it be that 20 years of human activity has less impact than the eruption of one small volcano? Could it be that whatever people do doesn’t effect the climate in a measurable way?
The answers to your “Could it be…” questions may be Yes and they may be No. But if I had to cover the losses, I would pull my head out of the sand, keep an open mind, do the research recommended, and try to honestly answer the questions. Depending on what I decided were the most likely answers, I would encourage real action to address the problems. Ignore and ridicule the research if you choose, but remember what happened to those who, 50 years ago, ignored the link between smoking and lung cancer because “the scientists just can’t agree.”
This global warming causing hurricanes is just total bull!! We are in a period of much higher hurricane activity. It is historically provable and demonstrable. Every NOAA guy who gets on TV says as much, even the ones who ardently believe in global warming. Every 20-30 years the cycle changes-it always has (even before cars and man made CO2 emissions) and always will (long after we use some other energy source).
Did you look at that web site? Al Franken said it, it must be a fact!
But seriously, there may acutally be a warming trend over the past few years. But there was probably a cooling trend before that and there will likely be another. Human activity has a minimal effect on these climate changes.
I’m embarrassed to see that grossly ignorant people populating my profession. You can’t see, taste, or touch God…but you believe he’s there. You can SEE global warming, the rise in ocean temperatures, the increase in hurricanes, the ever increasing hole in the ozone, the sharp increase in skin cance, and the migration of life forms to cooler habitats, but you deny global warming?
If so, you’re helpless, and you can ride straight to hell in a short bus with Michael Savage, a man who certainly has no partisal agenda he’s pushing!
Take an astronomy course and you’ll learn that in the course of the earth’s existence, its been essentially nuked from the sky a few times, causing mass extinctions. Even with all our weapons (which haven’t been used) we couldn’t cause that type of catastrophic damage. We are living in a cosmic blink, and yes, we have made noteable changes to the earth in recent years. But relatively, the changes that we see as large are actually pretty small. (I’m not advocating we ignore human damage either)

Global warming is a fact.
It is non existent. Just ask Michael Savage, he will set you straight.

One fact is indisputable: The human specie has caused more harm to this planet than anything you care to name.

A planet damaged by natural phenomenon is one thing. A planet’s dominant species destroying its own home world is us.
