Clive Tobin, chief executive responsible for XL Capital Ltd’s insurance operations announced the appointment of a new leadership team for XL Insurance Global Marine and Offshore Energy unit, part of XL’s Specialty Insurance operations which are headed by David Duclos.
Jeff Kaufmann has been appointed head of M&OE US operations in New York while Colin Sprott will oversee M&OE International operations from London.
A former merchant marine, Kaufmann joined XL Insurance in 2000 from Reliance National Insurance Company’s Marine division.
Sprott’s career includes his tenure on AIG’s Marine Underwriting team before he joined XL London Market in 1999.
The XL Insurance Marine & Offshore Energy unit provides insurance for clients with special coverage needs for their marine or offshore energy exposures. Products include cargo, primary marine liabilities, excess marine liabilities, offshore energy, bluewater hull and brownwater hull.
