W. R. Berkley Corporation reported the formation of Berkley Aviation, LLC. Berkley Aviation will write aviation risks on behalf of W. R. Berkley Corporation’s insurance company subsidiaries. Berkley Aviation will focus on general and specialty aviation insurance and also will participate on airline carrier risks.
Jason Niemela has been named president of Berkley Aviation. Niemela has more than 16 years of experience in the aviation insurance business.
He previously served in senior positions with major aviation insurers, including, most recently, as vice president of aviation at XL Specialty Insurance Company.
