Tom McCarthy joins Beazley as technical underwriting manager, based in Chicago. McCarthy has 20 years of commercial property experience with Wausau Insurance and Liberty Mutual Property, serving most recently as senior underwriting specialist with Liberty Mutual Property in Chicago.

Hanes and McCarthy will work closely with Mark Bernacki, who joined Beazley in December last year to lead the development of the firm’s commercial property business in the U.S. admitted market. The team is on schedule to begin accepting business in the fourth quarter of 2006.

“Our firm belief is that mid market businesses deserve access to the creative and flexible underwriting and high quality service that larger businesses often take for granted.
