American International Group, Inc. announced that John Q. Doyle, president of American Home Assurance Company, has also been named AIG senior vice president for domestic general insurance and president and chief executive officer of National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Christopher A. Maleno, president of American Home’s Excess Casualty unit, has been named executive vice president and chief operating officer of American Home.
In addition to serving in his current position as president of American Home, Doyle will assume responsibility for National Union, AIG’s principal provider of management and professional liability products and services. He succeeds John W. Keogh, who has left the company to pursue another opportunity.
Doyle, 42, joined National Union in 1986 and has served in senior roles in the management and professional liability divisions. In 1999, he became executive vice president and chief operating officer of AIG Environmental, and in 2000 was appointed executive vice president of the Domestic Brokerage Group responsible for field operations and market segments. He assumed the presidency of American Home in 2002.
Maleno, 39, served as president of AIG Excess Casualty, a division of American Home. Prior to joining AIG Excess Casualty, he held key underwriting and marketing positions within the Domestic Brokerage Group, including regional vice president for New York. He joined AIG in 1995.
