Swett & Crawford, based in Woodland Hills, Calif., announced that Neal Abernathy, currently the company’s president and chief operating officer, has been named chief executive officer.
Abernathy has been president and COO since August 2005. He will also retain the president’s title.
“Neal’s boundless energy, infinite enthusiasm, excellent communications skills and management acumen make him the ideal choice,” explained Dave Hartoch, chairman of the board. Hartoch will continue in his role as Chairman.
In addition, the firm will move its corporate offices from Woodland Hills, California to Atlanta, Ga., as part of a plan to streamline and consolidate administrative and support functions under Abernathy’s leadership.
Commenting on these changes, Abernathy explained “This is a very exciting time at Swett & Crawford. We are positioning Swett for significant growth by hiring new producers and pursuing strategic acquisitions.”
