Millicent W. Workman has joined International Risk Management Institute Inc. (IRMI) based in Dallas, Texas, as a research analyst. She will be acting as the editor of IRMI’s newly acquired, Practical Risk Management, a source of practical, concise, action-oriented background and advice on all of the most important activities, techniques, and tools of risk management. Her employment with IRMI begins Sept. 11, 2006.
Workman, who has more than 30 years of hands-on risk management experience in a variety of industries, is the CPCU Society’s 2005-2006 president. She is a past president and treasurer of the CPCU Society’s Memphis Chapter, and will complete her term as the national CPCU Society president, following the conclusion of the CPCU Society’s Annual Meeting and Seminars, Sept. 12, 2006, in Nashville, Tenn.
Workman has also served as a regional vice president, national director, and as chairman of the Society’s Risk Management Review Task Force. She is active with RIMS, as past president of the Memphis Chapter; and Ole Miss Insurance Advisory Council. In recognition for her dedication and service, Business Insurance named Workman “Risk Manager of the Year” in 1992 and one of the “100 Leading Women in Insurance” in 2000.
