HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. announced that J. Robert Dickerson has been elected as chairman of its Board of Directors and lead independent director.
Dickerson, who is a retired tax attorney, is 65 years old and has served on the Board since 1981. Dickerson is currently chairman of the Compensation Committee and a member of the Nominating and Governance Committee.
In announcing Dickerson’s election, CEO Frank J. Bramanti noted that the company had decided to separate the roles of chairman and CEO. He said Dickerson had a long standing involvement with the company and has a “good working relationships with his fellow Board members.”
Headquartered in Houston, Texas, HCC is an international specialty insurance group with offices across the United States and in Bermuda, Spain, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
