A.M. Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating (FSR) of “A++” (Superior) and issuer credit ratings (ICR) of “aa+” for the property/casualty group, The Cincinnati Insurance Companies (CIC) and its the members. Best also affirmed the ICR of “aa-” and the senior debt ratings of Cincinnati Financial Corporation (CINF). Concurrently, Best affirmed the FSR of “A+” (Superior) and ICR of “aa-” for The Cincinnati Life Insurance Company. The outlook for all ratings is stable.
Fitch Ratings has upgraded its Issuer Default Rating (IDR) on The Travelers Companies, Inc. to “A+” from “A” and its ratings on Travelers senior unsecured notes and subordinated notes to “A” and “A-” respectively. Fitch also upgraded its insurer financial strength (IFS) ratings on Travelers insurance company subsidiaries to “AA” from “AA-,” and assigned all of the ratings a stable outlook.
Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services has assigned its ‘BBB’ preferred stock rating to StanCorp Financial Group Inc.’s junior subordinated issue of fixed-to-floating-rate income capital obligation notes (ICONs), which are due in 2067.
