The Navigators Group Inc. announced that its principal insurance company subsidiary, Navigators Insurance Company, has entered into an agreement with Smith, Bell & Thompson, Inc. (SB&T) to underwrite property/casualty insurance products for the Forest Products industry.
The Lumber Insurance Program was designed to deliver a comprehensive insurance program that addresses the unique challenges associated with the wood products industry. The program will be administered by the Managing Agency Group (MAG) division of Smith, Bell & Thompson in its Syracuse, N.Y., office, and will be available to brokers in all states except Alaska and Hawaii.
“We are extremely pleased to join forces with SB&T/MAG to provide innovative insurance solutions for the Forest Products industry,” said Rick Cullen, president of Navigators’ Specialty Program Division. “Their focus and underwriting expertise within this industry was a key component in our decision to move forward with this program.”
“Working more closely with Navigators presents a great opportunity to further specialize in the development, distribution and growth of program business throughout the industry,” said Peter
Plumb, executive vice president of Smith, Bell & Thompson.
