Lexington Insurance Co. has begun offering commercial property insurance that will replace customers’ damaged buildings and property with green-friendly products.
The coverage, called Upgrade to Green, is designed to reduce the overall environmental impact of rebuilding insured property and help commercial property developers meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations, the company said.
The coverage includes products that are energy and water efficient, as well as those that improve indoor air quality.
“Lexington is committed to supporting the real estate industry’s drive to environmental sustainability,” said George Stratts, executive vice president, Lexington Insurance Company.
The coverage is available as an endorsement to Lexington’s standard commercial policies.
Lexington is a division of American International Group.
