Willis Group Holdings Limited appointed Gerry McCarthy as senior vice president, and regional director of construction and real estate claim teams of Willis of New York Inc.
McCarthy’s responsibilities include developing risk-transfer and claim resolution strategies.
He brings more than 20 years of experience with him to the position. He used to be senior vice president at the construction risk brokerage, Allied North America, where he managed the claims department. Before that, he was co-managing attorney of the construction practice group at Jones Hirsch Connors & Bull, P.C., an insurance defense litigation firm in New York.
Begining his career at the law firm of Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman & Dicker, where he worked in civil and commercial litigation, with emphasis on construction, insurance and reinsurance matters, he moved to join AIG’s construction risk management division as vice president in New York.
