Mike Keely has been named vice president and head of the Markel Essex ‘s Ocean Marine Division.
Previously, Keely served as assistant vice president Ocean Marine, charged with product and personnel development.
Keely joined Markel Essex Ocean Marine in August 2002, but has worked in the ocean marine industry for 13 years, on both standard lines and excess and surplus lines.
Keely steps in as division head for John Grossenbacher. “With John’s helpful guidance and mentoring Mike has prepared well to take over the daily operations of the department,” said Brad Dickler, president/chief operating officer of Markel Essex John has opted to take on a somewhat reduced schedule, but will continue to underwrite and serve as an important resource to Mike and the entire Ocean Marine team.”
Markel Essex Ocean Marine Division writes various lines of ocean marine business and specializes in waterfront packages and difficult to place risks. Markel Essex is a wholly owned subsidiary of Markel Corp.
