Westrope Expands Capabilities for Life Sciences Industry

Kansas City, Mo.-based Westrope has announced it has expanded its capabilities in the life sciences arena. The newly expanded emphasis will focus on all aspects of life sciences, including medical devices, biotechnology, manufacturers & distributors of pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.

By strategically matching brokers and support teams to our network of key carrier relationships, Westrope provides life sciences solutions with an unprecedented level of service, the company statement said.

Coverages offered include products liability, general liability, product recall, vendors, and the addition of errors and omissions coverage for those entities involved in clinical trials. All programs can be offered on a primary and excess basis or both and can include claims brought anywhere in the world.

“Westrope’s Life Sciences solutions are catered specifically to meet the needs of life science and medical technology companies,” said David Brinkerhoff, executive vice president in charge of the
Casualty Division for Westrope. “Our advanced understanding of this complex field is paramount to formulating the best program for the insured.”

Sandie Mullen will lead Westrope’s life sciences practice and is located in the company’s Kansas City office. Prior to joining Westrope as an insurance professional, Sandie spent 15 years with
biotech companies in technical, sales and management positions and is now utilizing her knowledge in life sciences to spearhead this effort, the Westrope release said.

Westrope identifies itself as the 7th largest wholesale insurance broker in the U. S.
