I really hope the IJ isn’t going to post an article about every insurance companies executive compensation. We get it. Profits were down yet they all got bonuses. Tell us something we don’t know. Theres’ really no need to publish an article/start a pissing match for each of them.
The Marsh staff that provides what ever passes for service there these days received no raises or bonuses. Only the top tier of management (as did sales staff based on performance) received bonuses, and or raises. This just pours salt into the wounds there – they all know it but seeing it in print is just another knife in the back.
Maybe you get it, albeit apathetically, but corporate governance does not. As captain, if you lose money for the ship, then there should be no bonus. Personally I am bonused based on performance and shouldn’t we all? Post all executive bonuses please.
You don’t have to pay it. You have other choices – including other brokers whom I am sure would be delighted to sit across a conference room table with you.
Why is it so hard for so many people to accept that others have made better employment agreements than themselves?
Is it jealousy? Ignorance? Or just not enough to do so you complain about others getting “too much”?
I personally do not have any idea what their agreements are/were, but obviously they had some leverage or they would not have been paid what they were paid.
As for lower level staff not getting more money, every single one of them has the option of working harder, smarter and doing what it takes to get a bigger piece of the pie.
Stop whining and start working. Maybe you will find your “bonus”.
Why are we supposed to care about what these guys make? Is this now going to be standard news for all insurance companied/brokers? I am sure they worked for it.
Don’t do your job and get the big bucks. Small agencies bus their butts to stay alive and have to listen to clients complain about the cost of insurance after they read about these scandalous bonuses.
After 30 years I’ve learned deserving, productive, results-oriented, loyal, employees do not often get rewarded nor do poor, underachieving, pompous executives/managers lose their jobs and exorbitant salaries, bonuses, perks, etc.

No wonder the managing director on my account keeps telling me they want to increase my fees.
