Traveler’s is screwed up? The guy oversaw Traveler’s Select, and that division is exploding in Illinois. Our agency has committed about 1/2 of our entire select portfolio to Traveler’s, and they are doing a great job! Sorry to see him go.
But like everwhere else, he probably had to leave to get what he was really worth. I know of one our regionals that has a bunch of people ready to leave as soon as the offers start coming in. When this dust settles we are going to see new people at several companies. It always happens coming out of a market when companies are not paying their employees.
Let’s hope he does. I am a coastal agent. Aetna/Travelers used to be my #1 company, until Travelers raised their HO rates above the FAIR plan, and implemented 5% hurricane dedcutible way before the rest of the market did. Now Allstate is my biggest compeitiion, because they continue to write waterfront exposures, at about 40% less than the rest of the marketplace, Hopefully this dude will figure this out and put a stop to it.
