I think most of us would gladly accept an adjustment to our pay if the alternative was to loose our jobs.

    Fire them.

What is utterly amazing about this is that so many people just accept the czars. There is no constitutional authority for the position.

What really needs to happen is for the peopleof this country to demand claw backs for congressional pay for this debacle. Remember, it was the federal government that created fannie and freddie, that leaned on baknks to make bad loans to unworthy people, then allowed banks to package the bad debt in investments, knowing all the while the feds would back up their mistakes through loan guarantees.

There were certainly greedy banks, bankers and investment houses. At the same time, politicians greedy for votes, and thus power and money, are equally, if note MORE, to blame.

We need claw backs and a general lowering of salaries for ALL government employees. Especially those at the top.

We need to unite as one nation to overcome our problems which occurred when we the people let down our guard. It is time for all of us to come together and make this country great again. Their is no place for greed at the present. This is also a worldwide problem with no easy answers and a lot of sacrifice to be made by all. Our nation will be tested in the coming years, how do we lead?

Negotiate my foot. The US Government doesn’t owe the AIG executives anything nor does the American Taxpayer.

Why don’t we just refuse to pay? We weren’t a part of the employment contract. If I’m not mistaken, AIG is still effectively bankrupt. The mishandled the payment of the counterparties as well as the “incentive payments” to the financial executives.

In all other cases the Federal Government gets it’s money before anyone else. How about now? AIG still owes billions to the Government and the taxpayers.

Why are we so interested in protecting the managers and execs at AIG who got this nation and for that matter the world into a near world wide depression. Are they too big to fail, no. Should we bail those execs out, no. I have been unemployed for now 8 solid months and no one came to my aid. We need to hold them accountable and stop bailing out these greedy people who nearly collapsed this nation.
