There is another matter to think about in these old towns – signage.

It’s a subject neglected in so many towns we drive through – the sight of multiple huge signs is terrible for any town.

I came involved with the Town of Falmouth (Mass.) sign code, and helped re-write it, got it thru Town Meeting, including a way out of the grandfathering of the big old signs under our state Chapt. 40.

Take a drive thru Falmouth one day and see our results.

I own a building in the downtown area of Appleton City, Mo. It was built in 1898. We run an Hvac business there. It is a 56 year old business. We r making improvements. The building is structurally sound. In Appleton City, the bldg would sell for 20-30 thousand. I’m in the process of getting on the Historical register so I can get a grant to do some fixing up. Inventory is about 20 thousand. Just want property coverage because I used it for collateral on a loan. No claims have ever been submitted when we had ins. It was too expensive, so we cancelled. Looking for something less expensive. Thank you. Please use e mail.
