The community organizer is obviously over his head.

Cant we find someone to figure out how to shut of the flow of oil. Now we find its going to be early August before they can do anything.

We’ve simply got to stop off shore drilling. The risk to our environment is just too great. We have the technology to reduce our dependence on oil. Just kills me we won’t do it.

Not apologizing for anyone but they’re trying.
I just doubt you realize the extent of the problem however. Just to put it in perspective, every thirty feet you go down you add 1 atmosphere of pressure (14.4 PSI) so figuring the math you’re looking at roughly 170-190 atmospheres or 2448-2736 PSI.

In other words… a bit over a TON of pressure on an area little over the size of a quarter.

Everything they do down there has to be done remotely with very specialized submersible craft. As well the properties of water and other materials change when under that much pressure.
