Talk about accidentally revealing your interests…i like the comment that they will stay until ‘every drop of oil is recovered.’ Funny phrasing there.

One wonders if a proposed $10,000,000,000 in 2010 dividend payments is prudent given the ratings downgrades (and threatened subsequent downgrades), estimated $40-$60Bn environmental liability, and a unified public fury over what is perceived as BP’s incompetence in dealing with this spill (both lack of pre-planning/contingnecy plans and a post-accident response with an eye towards self-preservation and PR).

Wow, he’s going to make his THIRD visit to the gulf? Hmmmm…should be plenty of oil covered birds for him to cuddle for a good photo op.

Admittedly, I didn’t vote for the man and never bought into the whole “hope and change” BS he spewed. That being said, I still would’ve expected some better leadership from the man, instead of watching him give Paul McCartney an award the other night, taking yet another vacation, and golfing.

Do I expect him to personally plug the whole? Not at all. What he should do is have ABSOLUTELY EVERY RESOURCE (Army, Navy, Reserves, any engineer he can find, etc) at BP’s disposal instead of pointing the finger at the previous administration or saying “BP can handle this; it’s their mess. I’ll hold them responsible!” Maybe actually take some time to TALK to the fishermen that are going to be most affected by this (off camera!)?

No way. He doesn’t get a pass on this one.

So where are all of the liberal environmentalist complaining about how this administration has butchered this crisis. I think the white house is still trying to find a way to “not to let a good crisis go to waste” as Rahm Emanuel says.

Next time America should not vote in a Communist Community Organizer.

Your right on Wally! He cancelled important trips to visit Asain countries, but met his own vacation plans.
BP suggested this solution to cut, cap and siphon the oil in April. Oblama’s govt would not allow it. Now 6 weeks later, we are trying it. What a waste!!!

I’ve missed the Eco. groups protesting on the Gulf shores. Where are they, we have a legitimate lack of leadership here. Had this occurred during the prior administration, news would have only portraid the horror and protests.

Wally and gang: get your facts before you criticize. Everything you wanted him to do, and more, he has done to try to get this fixed. But don’t let the truth get in the way of a partisan anti-Obama rant. Spew forth… like the oil gusher itself… with your political pollutants.

I’m always amused when liberals lower the bar of civil discourse by referring to their opponents as Hitler or Nazis and then take offense when those opponents respond in kind. At least conservatives cite specific failures of action rather than engaging in juvenile name calling. Or engage in name calling that strikes at the truth i.e. Communist Community Organizer.

For anyone who is wondering about this “uncertainty”….

Google “BP Live leak camera” and click on the first link to see BP’s live camera feed.

In my non-professional opinion it looks like every bit as much oil is coming out from around the containment cap as was coming out before they cut the riser.

I’m no professional, but to even use the word “uncertain” seems pretty disingenuous– I am fully certain after watching the live feed that a ridiculous amount of oil is still spewing from the reservoir.

I do not believe that the Government has done all it can to plug this leak. Not in the slightest bit. We can get engineers together to put a man on the moon in 5 years. dont you think we can cap a well on our own planet?

Where are all the left wing nuts? Green Peace? Etc. protesting on the white house lawn. NO the only protest are against BP! Good job whitehouse and CNN, MSNBC, CBS. NBC ABC and PBS. You are all right step in line with the liberal message from the whitehouse.. NOPE NOT OUR FAULT!

Yeah we need a fairness doctrine, just not the one you guys want!

You’d think that the administration would take this “crisis” and run with it. But all they have is lame rhetoric on par with “the dog ate my homework”. Where’s Rahm Emanuel? Too busy dropping f-bombs, no doubt. This is his chance to show us what BIG government can do and all they have in their “bag of tricks” is the same old song about big oil. Time for Rahm to get some new material.
