Leave it to the political douche bags to use the Toyota recall as the lightning rod for something they should have addressed long before now. Toyota should have told Congress to pound salt after it continued to badger and berate the company over the acceleration re-call. Congress’s behavior was embarassing to the country and was nothing more than grand-standing to help the failing U.S. auto industry. I’d drive a defective Toyota over an American piece of crap any day.

This is yet another instance where the Federal Government needs to keep out of. We, in no way shape or form, need yet another GOVERNMENT agancy involved in something they know nothing about. As the article clearly states, they (current sitting representatives) have data from the Toyota mess that is not being released in its entirity and is only being released in such a way so as to encourage acceptance of “Federal Government Oversight”.. Stop this push, let the professionals (independent source)secure the facts and presnet them. If changes must be made than everyone will have all the facts so as to present an unbiased synopsis of the issues and proposed changes. We do not need Government intervention.
