NAS Managed Care Errors & Omissions Adds Cyber Liability

NAS Insurance Services has enhanced its managed care product with an e-MD cyber liability coverage enhancement. Because of increased regulations on patient privacy, HIPAA and customer notification, managed care organizations and healthcare consultants are susceptible to losses related to cyber liability and loss of sensitive patient information. NAS’ managed care product enhancement protects against these losses.

Coverage Highlights:

  • Network Security & Privacy Insurance

Defends and indemnifies the insured for any claims arising out of a breach of privacy, virus attack, denial of service, HIPAA violations, Red Flag regulations and HITECH Act. Coverage encompasses information in both electronic and paper format. Cause of loss includes regulatory fines and penalties.

Sublimit: $25,000 to $100,000

  • Patient Notification & Credit Monitoring Costs Insurance

Coverage includes all necessary legal, public relations, electronic forensics, advertising and postage expenses incurred by the insured to notify third persons of a breach of information.

Sublimit: $25,000 to $100,000

  • Data Recovery Costs Insurance

Provides reimbursement for all reasonable and necessary sums required to recover and/or replace data that is compromised, damaged, lost, erased or corrupted. This also includes software costs.

Sublimit: $25,000 to $100,000

  • Multimedia Liability

Coverage includes copyright and/or trademark infringement, theft or intellectual property, defamation, libel, slander from information on insured’s website or printed material.
