Specialty insurer Markel International has broadened its suite of products for directors and officers with the launch of three new products. It has also enhanced its existing directors’ and officers’ (D&O) wording.
The new products relate to investment funds, fund managers and the liabilities arising from securities launches.
The fund product covers the liability of directors and officers in relation to investment funds.
The product for fund managers covers directors and officers, the fund management company and the funds they manage in relation to crime, professional indemnity and D&O exposures.
The prospectus liability product covers the liabilities of directors and officers and others in the issuing firm involved in the launch of a capital raising.
Markel said it has also enhanced its general D&O product, expanding the definition of directors and officers, as well as increasing discovery provisions and providing full cover for acquired subsidiaries.
“With these products Markel can now truly cover all aspects and types of risk in the directors’ and officers’ universe,” said Patrick White, senior D&O underwriter at Markel International.
