The economy is so bad that they can’t afford a good used gun; nor pay for the get-a-way gas. Not to worry, the Feds will pass a Violent Crime Assistance Act which will provide grants to those in need.
You Tea Party types have a wonderful ability to turn good news into a downer. Would you have been more satisfied if crime had increased? Of course–then you could blaim Obama.
Nice segue to our President’s handling of the economy. I believe I had it wrong, there real reason is that all the good property has gone to the pawn shops.
On a positive note, big spending is coming to a halt and the accumulation of wealth will start shortly, followed by the re-purchase of pawned goods and profits from the E-bay sale of all those left over Hope & Change campaign signs.
The printing industry will boom in 2011 with all the NObama 2012 signs. Now that’s a seque.
Here in our town we used to have the police come to the neighborhoods and give candid crime reports from the beat officers themselves. About a year and a half ago the department hired an X-NYC cop and put him in charge of the “crime prevention department”. Then he revised the crime statistics report that went to the neighborhoods based on the FBI Crime statistics report that the Feds wanted to see. Now, miraculously it seems our crime statistics have improved 10X! According to these reports there is no crime. Of course when the discussion continues after the talking ‘bald’head leaves almost everyone in the neighborhood has some tidbit to share on purse snatchings, drug dealings, car thefts, home invasions, muggings and prostitutions. Wasn’t it Mark Twain that said “figures don’t lie, liars figure.” I believe the same can be said for statistics and statisticians. And, by the way, did you catch the actions of Officer Burke from the Seattle PD on his neighborhood watch system?
Also, I forgot who said it but there are three categories of lies—-lies, damned lies, and statistics, Might have also been Twain.
Try getting an interstate cargo theft reported, eveyone points to everyone else as who should take the report- no one wants this type of theft in their “stats”.

That’s a fact. Do not believe them any more than you believe in Santa Claus.
