CNA appointed Mark Verheyen as senior vice president and chief risk officer.
He will lead risk management efforts throughout CNA.
Since rejoining CNA in 2008, Verheyen has played a key role as a member of its enterprise risk management team, leading the development of its internal economic model, an important part of strategic and operational planning, capital management decision making, and day-to-day business execution. His 20 years of insurance industry experience includes spending the first 10 years at CNA in a variety of roles including pricing, reserving, underwriting, and reinsurance. He went on to assume actuarial and modeling roles at other firms including Ernst & Young and Travelers
Verheyen succeeds John Beckman who has accepted the role of chief underwriting officer in Commercial Insurance.
