Austin, Texas-based medical professional liability insurance carriers Medicus Insurance Co., has lowered its base rates for physicians and medical professionals in Arizona, Kansas, Nevada, Ohio, Texas and Virginia. Medicus sells insurance in 24 states from coast to coast.
Medicus lowered rates in Arizona 19 percent, in Kansas 15 percent, in Nevada 9.9 percent, in Ohio 9.9 percent, in Texas 9.5 percent and in Virginia 9.1 percent. These percentages are an average of rates that vary by specialty and territory.
Medicus pursues a Go Green initiative, which incorporates four areas of practice: striving to become a paperless office, moving business transactions and more communications from paper to electronic and reusing and recycling paper. Medicus’ newly announced electronic ACH payment option is also part of the Go Green initiative. It allows twelve equal electronic payments, saving paper as well as time.
