I never have understood paying someone not to produce. I’m open to hearing what the logic is behind it. Makes no sense to me.

This smacks of pork belly legislation backed by powerful lobbying groups. Why, the government could issue similar programs for literally any form of commodity, from steel to talcum powder. You can be sure the milk industry will want their fair share of payouts.

How does guaranteeing the continuance of record profits make sense? Because it’s a bipartisan plan with two from each side of Congress? How about a little discussion first about what and how much gets cut elsewhere before we start dividing the next pie before it’s even cooked?

Is it any wonder why Congress has a 9% approval rating. They keep doing the same thing over and over when the country is broke. The only way to break this cycle is to change them all out and represent the people instead of lobbyists and special interest groups who line the politicians pockets.

I have come to the conclusion they are almost all rotten to the core, especially the ones who have been in office 20+ years. They seem to fall into the temptation of the perks and money the special interest groups provide and then pass legislation favoring that group. The big corporate farms have a great deal of influence on the hill and they have been getting their way for decades.

Crop insurance paid back the govt between 1 and 2 billion in underwriting gains in 2010 how come no one is talking about that, and this year without it farmers in the disaster areas would not have made it and then guess what happens fewer farmers higher food prices even more than what they are now!!

There is an endless number of ways our government takes our money and bribes US to support them. Please see Greece and Italy for your future.
