AIG Unlikely to Take Q4 Reserve Charges: Barclays

    Somehow the markets do not buy this. The stock is near the level where the reverse stock split (1:20) happened a few years ago.

    Without government support, the stock would be trading under the $1 level it was before the split and probably have been delisted by the NYSE.

    Why does AIG need reserves when it is backed by the Fed & its various bailout programs? Agree with agent, that even our broken market realizes that AIG is a black box, heading for a further failure. Why does our industry & insurance press remain silent about
    permitting AIG to compete & continue to drag down what remains of the prudent insurance companies?
