“…McClellan acknowledged that state exchanges would not be as robust without the individual mandate but said that fact could result in deficit savings.”

So which is it? Does everybody have to join to be a net gain as promised by our leadership or is fewer better to reduce liability? Sounds like the good ‘ole USA is screwed either way if this policy is not abolished completely!

Congress has screwed the American People by passing this piece of Progressive trash. Instead of focusing on eliminating fraud and abuse of Medicare & Medicaid which is estimated at $100 Bil per year, they do all these other things. This so called Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable. They should have put meaningful Tort Reform in it as well so doctors wouldn’t have had to practice so much defensive medicine. Anymore, the smallest issue seems to require an MRI or Cat Scan. This is totally out of control and the markets are responding to this legislation with a steady stream of rate increases.

Tort reform? That would remove the green lining from the demonrats’ pockets!

Tort reform and giving tax subsidies to those that pay insurance are much better alternatives.

I agree PM. The lawyer lobby is one of the biggest supporters of Progressive Democrats and this President. Also, the people in Congress are almost all lawyers. There was no way they were going to kill the golden goose by putting Tort Reform in this legislation. If this doesn’t get thrown out by the Supreme’s or by the next Presdent and Congress, we will be finished as a country. There is no money in the till.

You constant attacks are pure demagoguery. You call the PPACA a “piece of Progressive trash,” but the foundations of the law, the individual mandate was a Republican idea, not a Democratic idea, and was introduyced by the Heritage Foundation and Newt Gingrich and supported and enacted by Mitt Romney. They were for it before they were against it. Or as Christine O’Donnell would say, theyt’s been consistent since they changed their minds.

TOPOV, I don’t care if the legislation was supported, introduced by Progressive Democrats or Progressive RINO’s. That doesn’t change what is in it and it is mostly bad legislation, all 2,700 pages of it that had to be passed in the middle of the night with 100% opposition by Republicans and the majority of Americans. Nancy said she had to pass it so we could see what was in it. Now that we see what is in it, we are even more opposed to it. Progressives like you don’t seem to think there is a problem, but the fact is it is very bad and way too expensive for this country to afford in this recession economy.

You continue to spread false information about how it was passed, what Nancy Pelosi said and who supported it. I won’t bother to inform you of the truth, because you don’t care about the truth. Obviously.

Spoken like a true believer. Conservatives can present hundreds of reasons why this legislation should never have been passed, but you stick to your guns. There is enough evidence out there that Progressives have been spreading the false information about this bill. Why do you think so many waivers have been granted to thousands of busineses and unions if this bill was so wonderful? The President gave 40 speeches and still couldn’t sell it. I look forward to the day it is dismantled, defunded and dismissed.
