Momentous Insurance Brokerage Launches Equine Specialty Practice

January 6, 2012

Momentous Insurance Brokerage has formed an equine specialty practice to provide insurance coverage for horse-related businesses and private horse owners.

The equine practice launched at the start of the year and will offer personal equine liability, equine mortality coverage, commercial equine liability and farm/ranch coverage.

As part of its history in covering high net worth individuals, Momentous has established strong roots in luxury hobbies such as horses, a hobby which often blends private and business assets. This experience should give the company a head start in its new equine practice. The brokerage also has employees with real-life experience in horses.

Terri Peters will serve as the equine practice leader and oversee all insurance needs for horse owners, trainers and equine-related businesses. Not only has she been in the insurance industry since 1976, but she also specializes in coaching and training hunt seat equitation and jumpers.

“There are very few insurance brokers that focus specifically on equine insurance,” said Peters. “By coupling our expertise and launching this new specialty practice we will be able to better serve the equine community.”

Christina G. DiSalvo will be the sales executive for the new practice. She joined Momentous to focus on insurance needs for horse owners, trainers and other equine businesses. She also trains and shows her own horses.

Momentous is a top 25 personal lines broker in the country and a top 100 broker for all lines of insurance. The Van Nuys-Calif.-based broker specializes in designing programs for areas such as high net worth individuals, film and tv productions, music and touring companies.
