NAS Insurance Services has started offering NetGuard Plus writeNOW! For Schools. The product provides network security and privacy protection for K-12 schools.
The company designed the product in the wake of the growing exposure of breaches in sensitive and confidential student, parent and employee information.
The product includes coverage for third-party claims arising out of privacy and security breaches of insured’s network security or other private information, multimedia claims, privacy breach response costs, network asset protection, cyber terrorism and cyber extortion. It also includes coverage for both offline and online information.
Coverage extends to defense costs and fines/penalties for violations of privacy regulations including HIPAA, Red Flags Rule, and the Hi-Tech Act.
The new product offers a streamlined application process, including a self-rater that simplifies quoting and binding. It also includes access to NAS’ Data Security Risk Management website.
NAS is an Encino, Calif.-based independent underwriting manager of specialty insurance with full-binding authority to underwrite on behalf of Lloyd’s, London and other carriers.
