The wealthy should be afraid now since they are being demonized by the media and administration who plays the class warfare card at every opportunity. I constantly tell my monied clients to buy a Personal Umbrella since they are more vulnerable to a large award if they have an at fault claim.

“Wealthy Americans Fear Costly Lawsuits” is the title. But, it seems the title has been elipsed a bit. The ending has been left off, which reads “…From Greedy, Worthless, Scumbag Attorneys Who Are Bundlers for Obama’s Reelection Campaign”.

I think the blood suckers get it first and then they can attend the fund raiser and give it to Obama and have their picture taken with him to put in their office. That is a badge of honor to them.

You are right on Mike N. 500 lawyers at the bottom of the ocean is a start. They have a very powerful lobby in our government, hence there was no tort reform in Obamacare. They still want to be able to sue a wealthy doctor and cause the Malpractice Insurance to double. These dudes are in the browbeating business and unfortunately, company attorneys often negotiate awards rather than fight and it is generally to the detriment of the customer being sued.

What’s worse? Obama taking donations from lawyers or Bush cozying up to his overlords?

I knew you couldn’t resist jumping in with your two cents worth. Obama is far worse since he is in bed with Soros and the Progressive establishment including the complicit media.

    OPV,
Save your liberal BS as 3 years have demonstrated this idiot is so far over his head.
Let’s release the college records so we can finally see that Obama attended all his colleges FREEE ON a foreign student grant! Otherwise, why hide the records!

Why are you not demanding to see Mitt Romney’s birth certificate and college transcripts?

Did you know that Romney’s father was born in Mexico?

Oh, I get it, you only question the Black guy. Can’t accept the fact that a Black guy is legitimately the President….there must be some scam going on here.

      Here’s the play:

A Kenyan man married a white lady from Kansas. They move to Kenya (even though she has a job in Hawaii) and have a baby there. But they decide to fake his birth in the U.S. by publishing newspaper accounts of his birth in all the Honolulu papers. The state of Hawaii then issues a birth certificate.

To further the consipracy to make this Kenyan born kid President, they decide to give him a name that will SURELY win him millions of votes….Barack Hussein Obama. Yeah, that was their plan to make him President. So logical, it’s scary.

Really, OPOV? The race card? Obama would be a horrible president if he was purple for God’s sake! Get over that, will you please?

Racial animus explains quite a bit. It’s the only reason people like you are obsessed with Obama’s birth. You can’t accept that an American born Black man is legitimately the President.

You never questioned John McCain’s nationality, even though everyone knows he was born outside the U.S., in the Panama Canal Zone. You haven’t questioned whther Mitt Romney was born here, even though everyone knows his father was born in Mexico.

And frankly, the most idiotic Birther, Dnals Trump claims to have been born in the U.S., in New York. But I’m seen him eat pizza with a knife and fork, and anyone living here will tell you there is no way they gut was born here. We don’t use a knife and fork when eating pizza.

Like it or not TOPOV, this man will be vetted this year. Even liberal newspapers like the Washington Post are on his case about his ineptitude and Socialist leanings. Are you saying George Romney was not an American? He did run for President you know. He was born of American parents who happened to be in Mexico at the time. Mitt was born in Michigan. John McCain was also born of American parents who were in Panama at the time. It is open to considerable debate that Obama was born in Kenya and his trailer trash mother brought him to Hawaii a few days later and got a birth certificate done for him. How about his bogus Connecticut Social Security number when he never lived there. Turns out it was a social of someone who died 40 years before. Why has he spent a million dollars to keep all this education records secret? Your guy is the ultimate Manchurian Candidate. No one knows his background, but they will.

Please don’t tell me what I can and cannot accept, OPOV. Liberals have a way of doing that to anyone who doesn’t agree with their own warped views. I can accept the fact that he’s black–why are YOU making such a big issue out of that? I cannot accept the fact that he is a liberal progressive, he is ruining my beautiful country, and he is growing the government to a disproportionate size.

Can I say something about his trailer trash uncle who was pulled over for a DUI in MA last summer? Oh, and yeah–can I mention that he was detained by ICE for being here from Kenya illegally?

I love Mr. Hageman’s comment “Half of the people we surveyed thought the worst-case lawsuit would be less than $5 million. But our experience is that awards for lawsuits involving serious injury can equal many times that amount.”

Mr. Hageman is correct that the awards CAN equal many times the $5 million amount. But, what is the frequency?

The article seems to me anyway to be well written to play upon the fears of the wealthy class to purchase more insurance. Hard to decide if this is informative or self-serving.

To answer your question a little of both. Reality is most people don’t understand insurance and wouldn’t it be awful if a client wasn’t aware they could get higher limits and had an event that runied them financially? It does happen as people are sued and 10 million bucks of coverage isn’t a lot compared to risk. I know of a real life claim where 10 million was paid out due to a hunting accident. We have sold higher limits for years and clients are usually surprised how affordable these kinds of limits are.

The more poor there are, the more folks have nothing to loose and everything to gain by suing. The way you reduce ‘fearful’ lawsuits is to strengthen the middle class.
