Direct MArketing … hmmm now they will compete against their producers – a sign of the times ? Who will help the insured in understanding the the technical aspects of their coverage?
No one. Understanding coverages is an unnecessary thing in today’s market. Just grab your “price gun” and purchase a policy from a carrier that has a catchy jingle or offers an Iphone app. Then when the claim comes in and SHOCKING is denied since the coverage was not proper, go ahead and sue the insurance company for non-disclosure. Sad but true- and the same can be said even when there is a Broker since many don’t read what they are selling- they just want to make the sale and move on to the next one
