Oh, really? Just how many times do we read/hear about this “threat” of a lawsuit? The AG has already withdrawn his claim for damages, so he now thinks holding Greenberg “personally accountable” and banning him from working in the securities industry will make any kind of amends? The man will be dead before any action is ever taken.

Despite being pretty slimy, I always figured Hank was a pretty bright guy. Being in the insurance business does he noty understand the difference betwen a criminal case and a civil case? The class action case he refers to with the $115 million settlement is a civil case. The case brought against him for fraud by the attorney general of NY is a criminal case. A settlement of one case does not obsolve him of the other. Get it Hank?

Poor old Hank. He has just lived from lawsuit to lawsuit for many years now. His attorney’s must just love the hefty retainer they are on to keep handling all these issues. They are going to suck him dry of funds before all is said and done.

Greenberg, 88, may be banned for life from running an insurance co. or working in the securities industry?

That’ll teach him to mess with a NY AG! Oh, wait! That’ll teach him to mess with THIS PARTICULAR NY AG.

Something tells me the trial may take more time than the lifespan of Greenberg after the trial concludes. Just a hunch. Perhaps someone should remind the NY AG of Greenberg’s age, and suggest he select another, similar case against a younger defendant to make his point?
