Oops! Allstate selling off more assets? I am sure their agents will be thrilled with this development and will be seeking other Life Markets. Recent developments tell me this company is in trouble and I would be nervous to be an employee.

I don’t see much impact as agents are already selling other carrier products. To me more interesting, since now agents have more products to offer through various carriers.

So the Captive contract doesn’t cover Life Business? If this is true, it won’t bother them. I know a lot of Allstate agents who would sure like to be Independent. Our marketing reps are bombarded with requests from Allstate agents wanting to appoint.

You would think this sale would give Allstate enough money in the banks to up the anti for their President……sarcasm……or possibly show their employees they are still valued and keep some retirement benefits in place. I guess they are one of the last of the Big Companies to strip their employees of everything they go to work for every day.

Trust me, their agents could care less about selling any life insurance at all. Besides, the life business will be written with Allstate Life Ins Co now anyway, as ALL has rolled out several new products that are written in ALIC. So, this is welcome news to the agents.

How can you take these executives seriously? 2-3 years ago they were shoving life insurance sales down their agents throats, rapping annual bonuses eligibility into it and setting life insurance quotas…now they sell the business. This company will never be Progressive, no matter how hard they try.
