Catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide promoted Bill Churney to the newly-created position of chief operating officer.
Based in AIR’s Boston headquarters office, Churney will have immediate responsibility for all product management, software product development, global business development, marketing, consulting, and client service activities.
Churney joined AIR in 2002 and most recently served as senior vice president of AIR’s business development and marketing groups.

In that role, he was responsible for providing support and service to AIR clients in the insurance, reinsurance and intermediary markets in the Americas, and he oversaw AIR’s global marketing strategy.
Churney has experience working on their catastrophe risk management processes. He has led teams that have expanded AIR’s presence in the U.S. insurance markets and within Latin America. Before joining AIR, Churney worked in product management and operations management.
