The Hartford has extended its agreement with AARP to offer home and auto insurance products to its members. With the three-year extension, The Hartford’s relationship with AARP now runs through January 1, 2023. This is the fourth extension since the program’s inception in 1984.
Marketed as The AARP Automobile and Homeowners Insurance Program, The Hartford offers auto and homeowners insurance to AARP members, as well as other personal insurance products such as personal umbrella insurance, and coverage for motor homes and off-road recreational vehicles.
According to Andy Napoli, president of Consumer Markets and Enterprise Business Services at The Hartford, “The exclusive home and auto insurance program for AARP members is a strong platform for the continued growth of our personal lines business.”
The Hartford has been focused on researching and understanding the needs of the 50-plus population. The Hartford Center for Mature Market Excellence, staffed by gerontologists, conducts original research and public education programs on safety, mobility and independence. The center also applies knowledge of aging to develop products and services for The Hartford’s customers as well as specialized training for The Hartford’s employees.
