GMI Insurance, a managing general agency specializing in commercial transportation exposures, has formed an exclusive partnership with Charles James Cayias Insurance, Inc. of Salt Lake City to insure a new pilot car program. The coverage targets pilot cars or escort vehicles that accompany oversize load vehicles through a specified area or traffic pattern.
Charles James Cayias Insurance works in cooperation with North American escort vehicle trainers, certifying entities and insurance professionals who specialize in protecting the needs of escort operators throughout the United States.
In partnership with GMI Insurance, the professional pilot car insurance package offers the following insurance coverages: commercial automobile, general liability, professional liability, route survey and inland marine.
“Every state has a different requirement for pilot cars,” says Charles Cayias, President of Charles James Cayias Insurance, Inc. “We help to ensure that all our clients are up to date with the state and federal requirements. Pilot cars must have flags, signs, and lights on the car to warn the public that there is an oversized load coming through.”
GMI Insurance’s suite of transportation-related insurance programs includes business auto, rental fleet, contingent auto lease and non-franchised auto dealers.
Charles James Cayias Insurance is a third-generation agent that has been licensed since 1977 as a general retail agency based in Salt Lake City. The firm focuses on commercial auto exposures with expertise in covering pilot car and escort vehicle risks.
