Yes, it’s scary. No, they actually haven’t known about it that long. It has been there for two years but it wasn’t known about (at least by IT professionals) until last Monday, April 7th. The info and patches came quickly for the simple fact that it’s such a huge vulnerability. And last, no, the healthcare.gov website was not affected. You can check for affected websites at the following: https://lastpass.com/heartbleed/.
